Food for Others 2938 Prosperity Avenue Fairfax, VA 22031 USA

The warehouse is the heart of our operation. This is where all of our food donations are stored and where staff and volunteers sort, package and distribute USDA and emergency food supplies directly to our clients. The warehouse is high energy, full of activity and a great place to roll up your sleeves and make a difference!

Volunteer@foodforothers.org connects you to Tiara Johnson, Volunteer Coordinator and Nikki Clifford, Director of Volunteer Services who are happy to answer additional questions.

***All volunteers must wear close-toed shoes. NO EXCEPTIONS! Safety regulations require us to send you home if you do not have the correct footwear. Safety regulations also do not allow cell phones or ear buds while working in the warehouse. Please dress to be comfortable and according to the weather. The loading dock doors are always open to the elements.

Please email volunteer@foodforothers.org if you have to cancel on the same day of your shift. If you are canceling a shift more than 1 day prior to your commitment, please update your schedule by visiting your My Profile page (https://foodforothers.volunteermatters.org/volunteer/my-profile), and in the "My Assignments" area, locate the shift in question, click on the icon, and then scroll down and click "Withdraw from Assignment". We rely heavily on the hard work of volunteers and we cannot accomplish all we do without you. If you schedule a volunteer shift and DO NOT show up, Food for Others is not able to effectively serve the community to the best of our ability. With this in mind, we also understand unexpected circumstances can cause you to cancel, so it is important to our operations that you give us as much notice as possible. A no-show may endanger future shifts.
