Front Office volunteers are the first people clients meet at FFO. Please be welcoming and open to assisting in any way you can. Volunteers will work with clients through the intake process, which involves completing and/or renewing their eligibility application for food services. Also, be sure to be familiar with information/services available in our Welcome Packet to explain to clients as needed.
Volunteer@foodforothers.org connects you to our Volunteer Services team. We are happy to answer additional questions!
Closed toe shoes are highly recommended in case you go into the warehouse.
We rely heavily on the hard work of volunteers and we cannot accomplish all we do without you. If you schedule a volunteer shift and DO NOT show up, Food for Others is not able to effectively serve the community to the best of our ability. No-shows will endanger future volunteering potential with our organization. With this in mind, we also understand unexpected circumstances can cause you to cancel, so it is important to our operations that you give us as much notice as possible. If you must cancel your shift less than 72 hours in advance, please email volunteer@foodforothers.org or call (571) 378-0602. Undisclosed cancellations made with less than 72 hours’ notice or frequent last-minute cancellations will be considered no-shows. If you are canceling a shift more than 72 hours prior to your commitment, please update your schedule by visiting your My Profile page (https://foodforothers.volunteermatters.org/volunteer/my-profile). In the "My Assignments" area, locate the shift in question, click on the icon, and then scroll down and click "Withdraw from Assignment".
